DSs lips turned white while eating hula hoops

He was eating salt and vinegar ones for the first time. The outside of his lips were fine and it looked like he had pure white lips on the inside with pink lip liner on. It looked almost like a blister. But there was no swelling etc. And within minutes normal colour had come back.

Any ideas?

it has happend with my ds too i think its just the vinegar and tartness

DD has this when she eats salt and vinegar crips. must be to do with the salt and stuff...

give a rice cake instead

I know what you mean it's due to the fact ere is a lot of salt in them,

As other have said it is the salt and vinegar. Very strong flavours. I remember my lips doing this as a child.

It tingles too.

Pickled onion crisps do the same thing

oh, glad it's normal lol. It was the first time he'd had them (though has had an occasional salt and vinegar pringle before) and I was worried he was allergic or something bizarre. DD had a couple but no reaction with her.
