What could this be?

I have felt so nauseous and exhausted on and off all day…. I finished my period last week and not due to ovulate for another 4/5 days…. I don’t think it’s a bug. Could it be hormone related or unlikely? I just feel so off…. (Mid thirties, health anxiety, on and off crazy hormones!)

An off day? Normally just feeling rough for a day is just because, it's only if it drags on you need to start looking into it

@PhunkychickenIt’s on and off, some days are ok and then I’m floored again… I’ve had blood tests done about 6 months ago as I’m convinced it’s to do with hormones but just haven’t felt like this in this ‘phase’ before… the only thing gp offered is anti depressants. Think I need supplements but don’t know where to start. Think I’m just really anxious and overthinking as feel so odd.

Anxiety can massively impact how you feel, so it could be self sustaining

I blame the weather when I feel off for no obvious reason.

Could be a bug OP. Health anxiety here too and I felt so bad last week I diagnosed myself with a million things!

Then DH caught it and I got better overnight and realised it was just a bug. I'm thinking probably Covid as it always causes really random non-specific symptoms.

Mine started with very painful breasts, at the wrong time of the month, nausea and exhaustion. I would be totally fine then suddenly get hit by tiredness and have to close my eyes and have a nap there and then.

I then developed more gastric symptoms and back pain (I NEVER get back pain).

I'm totally back to normal now!

Could you maybe address your anxiety in some way?

CBC123 · 26/06/2025 22:36

Thanks so much all. Yeah I think I need to go back to trying to sort my anxiety… I don’t feel like it’s a bug (no temp/cold or cough/bad tummy etc) but maybe….. my main symptoms are bloated, nausea and extreme panic/anxiety which comes and goes in waves….a bit of disassociation too. I was fine yesterday… I also feel pretty teary! Just feel really silly but then as soon as I feel a bit nauseous I panic again.

really appreciate you coming back to me thank you

I was really bloated too, as well as teary. Spent the week at work procrastinating, totally overwhelmed and trying not to burst into tears. I wasn't having a stressful week at all so it was all very odd.

Either way, yes do try to get back on top of your anxiety. For now, put a nice movie or podcast on, relax and park it until tomorrow. I also recommend "the hypnotist" podcast. I'm not woo woo at all but it really works! He has loads of different ones, I tend to listen to 'sleep hypnosis for anxiety' when it all gets too much.

Oh What a strange virus?! Maybe I do have that! I don’t know feel like I’m going crazy. And it’s so pathetic but I get scared of going to sleep in case I have night time panic attacks or wake up feeling worse! Such a ridiculous way to feel! I will look into podcasts etc that’s a good idea xx
