Please someone talk me down , after having so many problems in pregnancy I’ve developed health anxiety, I’m 4 months pp and it’s just awful. I was convinced I had a dvt a few days after birth as my legs hurt and was red but had a scan and it was clear. For the last week I’ve had an ache and throb above my ankle and knee in one leg. Now I’m convinced I have a dvt again🫣please someone talk some sense into me, I probably just have a leg ache but can’t stop worrying the worst

Long time lurker but just wanted to reply to you. Not meaning to frighten you but I had a dvt in my leg - just tightness no other symptoms but I knew to get it checked as I was on the pill and was at increased risk. I was scanned and they found nothing but hospital policy was to scan again after a week if not improved. I got worse, was limping and breathless going up stairs. Another scan by someone who was an expert in dvt and they found it. Not saying this is the case for you but it may be worth asking for another scan just to put your mind at rest. Dvt is very treatable but can be dangerous if not treated so please do get checked. You're high risk post partum so this should be taken seriously..

Regarding the health anxiety, look up Anna Mathur she has some stuff that may be useful. And go easy on yourself! You've been through a huge thing having a baby and are still in the trenches. Sending positive vibes your way!

Did you just go to the gp to get a scan arranged? I really cannot be spending 10+ hrs in a&e with a small baby😖 im also on the pill!

If you are still in pain/discomfort go back to your gp. I would also consider getting your blood checked. It's very common to have deficiencies after giving birth and these can cause aches and pains.
I would also consider getting some help for your anxiety.

Sorry only just seen this. Initially I was referred by the GP. They sent me to A&E as they couldn't get through to the right team. I was quickly triaged but was still probably 5+ hours waiting for various tests and results
