Progestin Only Pill causing IBS?

Hi

Curious if anyone on here had gut issues after starting a POP?
I' m on it since 3 weeks and had massive cramping on day 4 followed by one (Sorry TMI!) explosive bowel movement. This happened again twice over the next week and ever since my stools have been regular (once a day, twice rarely) but always mushy. Not diarroeha per se but just not formed stool iyswim.

It could just be viral/or some sensitivity to something but its just different from my experiences with random bugs or food poisoning .

I want to stay on the pop for a few months at least to see if it helps with the heavy periods, otherwise I would just quit to see if they are indeed causing the tummy issues.

Yeah, I can believe the pill can have an effect on guts.
My tummy is quite sensitive to my hormonal cycle/changes. I don't want to discuss details but I always know when I about to get my period by what my bowels are doing.
I am slightly lactose intolerant and that also seems to be have a hormonal element (worse before periods, completely fine during pregnancy and breastfeeding). The joys of being female 🤷‍♀️

Yes I have the same (can't tolerate too much dairy) and also familiar with the period poop 😁.

Oh well... Just wait and see I guess.
