Anyone else got this awful virus?

Started a few days ago with extreme exhaustion but I thought it was just work related. Then I started with a fever, shivering, painful throat, swollen glands, body aches, skin feels painful to touch, no appetite. Weirdly no nasal symptoms or cough.
The closest thing I've experienced to it is covid, but I don't have any tests to prove otherwise.
Son had it last week for 5 days and now me and my husband has it, but he has the opposite symptoms to me a cough and cold.

The new variant of Covid is more transmissible than previous ones and causes a painful throat, so could easily be that.

😭 that's what I'm thinking. I feel horrendous.

My husband had those exact symptoms last week and tested positive for covid. I hope you are feeling better soon.

I have this at the moment - got my husband to pick up some tests on the way home, tested positive straight away for COVID, it's not nice!

I had it and 3 weeks later I am still not fully recovered. I didn’t test but I think it was the new Covid variant

I think I had it 3 weeks ago, sore throat, throbbing head, sore underarms? Awful for about 24 hours, then a slow improvement.

I've stopped shivering and the aches are a bit better, but now my throat feels swollen and throbbing sore.
