Face and neck tender on one side

I get this from time to time but this time it's lasted a couple of weeks. It started on one side of my face and it felt like the inside of my throat was sore on one side as well as my scalp feeling tender on that side when washing my hair.
It's less tender on my face but still there and same in my neck and bottom of scalp in the occipotal area
I usually have this after a cold sore to a degree where my face hurts above the site of the sore on the same side but the cold sore cleared up weeks ago
This is also the side I get migraines on and I had a migraine at weekend.
Does anyone get the same? And when do I get it checked out. I don't think it can be TMJ as I have no jolts or zaps
I wonder if I teeth grind or similar
It's just annoying when I brush my hair or touch it and I think "ow"!
I've been suffering with sciatica for a while now too on this side so maybe that is all linked and the nerves are just confused !

yes occipital neuralgia, I have just had this, caused by starting some neck exercises to help with dizziness, I have stopped now and it is settling touch wood

Ah this makes total sense as I've been doing a bunch of exercises too !! Hope you're ok. I have had it before and mum gets it but is usually gone after a few days

yes, I was just dosing up on painkillers till it settled, it was horrid, scalp was burning and crawling and certain movements sent an electric shock up back of head, now I am just dizzy but thats better than being dizzy AND in pain😁

See I'm not getting any zaps, it just feels sore when eg I put foundation on or wash my hair and rub that side. I've got a headache again now too
