Struggling with it, started less than a week ago and spreading. I know it gets worse before it gets better. I am wondering how long it lasted for you and what helped the most? And also how it progressed, as in did it get slowly worse then better? Or was it rapid etc I have it on my hands, arm, back, ankle, little bit on leg, and bum!

I had this about 20 years ago, I really struggled with itching and I remember the dermatologist asked me to have baths with oatmeal

the worst bit lasted about a week, they were all gone within 2 weeks

apparentky it’s caused by a virus (didn’t know this back then), if it happened again I’d take antiviral stuff topped it up (vitamin a, c, zinc etc)

Thank you, if mine latest as short a two weeks that would be amazing as I know it can go on for months.

I think I took antihistamines for mine to stop the itching.

Toddlerteaplease · 14/06/2025 16:57

I had it years ago. I don’t remember it causing an issue at all. And it just disappeared.

Do you remember how long it lasted? Mine started on Tuesday and is still in the spreading stage.

I had this about 15 years ago, I still have the herald patch. My entire torso & arms were covered with it. It lasted over 2 months and then one day I woke up & it was gone!

Toddlerteaplease · 14/06/2025 17:11

Think it was a few weeks. But can’t remember.

Mine lasted 2 around 2 months , apparently my chicken pox caused it . It was a long summer

Shortjeans · 14/06/2025 17:24

My son had it. It lasted a couple of weeks.
We used head and shoulders shampoo on it which is supposed to clear it up quickly.

Nomorecoconutboosts · 14/06/2025 19:09

Mine lasted 5-6 weeks although the herald patch was there for quite a while before the rash iirc
it didn’t itch or hurt but I have very pale skin and my upper chest area was quite noticeable, it was summer and warm so I was self conscious about what clothing I wore.

YesThatsATurdOnTheRug · 14/06/2025 19:15

Mine lasted two or three weeks, Christ it was dramatic when it was there! Started on my chest and spread over my whole torso, arms, neck, even started down my legs. Then just faded away. Nothing really helped, I just moisturised a lot.

I had 15 years ago. Great start to university! Lasted about 6 weeks. Main issue was the skin on my knuckles had cracked. Very painful!

I think my 20 year old daughter has this at the moment , came up 2 weeks after her flu vaccination. She had it a few years back after a nasty bout of COVID too, took a couple of weeks to disappear
