Insect-repellent bracelets

I’m considering buying a set of these from a company called pestects as I’m prone to getting insect bites but I hate repellent lotions, sprays etc. Reviews look generally v good but I’d welcome opinions from any MNers who’ve bought these 😊

Oh dear, I think I really must be sleep deprived - this came up in active and I read as ‘insect-repellent bralettes’.
I wondered what the fresh hell this was.

No helpful advice I’m sorry OP but at least my lack of reading skills may give you a bump and someone more knowledgeable will come along.

These worked in The Canaries.. but not the Greek islands
🤷‍♀️ Don't ask me why.
But l think the Greek islands have more rain/ insects .

Bumping this OP as I’ve been looking at these also and would love some honest feedback - the Facebook reviews are excellent if they are to be believed!

I also misread - I thought it was "insect repellent brooches"! Have no experience with the bracelets, op, but would be very interested to know if they work - I'm a mosquito magnet and react horrendously.

I have purchased 2 packs for a holiday in the South of France in August.

They are supposed to last 1.5 weeks, but have bought enough to change after a week.

poppy10101 · 15/06/2025 22:39

They didn’t work and didn’t last on a recent holiday in Europe 😢 realised after a few days and a few bites and went back to using spray and plug in’s.

I always get bitten wherever I go and they help but don't eliminate bites completely. Still need stinky deet. Feel your pain!

tapdancingmum · 15/06/2025 22:51

I have used them and have still been bitten but I think I would've been bitten worse without them, iyswim. I do double up on them so one on my wrist and one on my ankle. Just a FYI the darker ones will bleed onto the nice white hotel sheets and towels when damp. I woke up to blue streaks everywhere and couldn't work out where it was from :)

I have for this year bought some sun cream with added insect repellent and am looking forward to trying it out.

Oh yes, forgot about the blue smurf skin ha!
