I have just been told I have it I guess it's good news in a way, I thought I had gallstones!

my mum suffered ulcers for years, and when i pressed her to ask her gp about H pylori (this was years ago) she was tested and was positive. She had a course of treatment for it and it helped her very quickly.
Hope you get sorted soon

It is good news McDreamy, honest. Much easier to treat than gallstones.

Agree, H pylori is a bug and can be treated so this is A Good Thing, really.

McDreamy · 22/05/2008 22:54

Anyone else had it?

McDreamy, I have just come across this as have been searching for a post on it. I am currently being treated with Omeprazole for a month for stomach ulcers but have been told that if pain doesn't go then will be tested for H pylori. Did you have any other symptoms because in the last few weeks have also felt absolutely terrible - weak, exhausted, headaches, and generally very unwell. I thought it might be a bug but now wondering if it could be H pylori. I feel as though my body is fighting an infection because I feel like I did when I had mastitis. I am seeing the doc later on this afternoon to discuss. Really want to get to the bottom of this as feeling pretty awful. Any input would be very gratefully received! Thank you.

i had it and thought was going go for record in filling vomit bowls when in hospital

but once treated was fine

Did you have any other symptoms as i have mentioned above? It is almost flu-like but without the sore throat, cough or runny nose.

I thought I had stomach ulcer a few years ago and then tested positive for H pylori. Had course of treatment and felt much better since - MUCH easier to deal with than ulcer or gallstones
