Curious thought about prescription....

I saw a Dr earlier on this week with an ear infection, he prescribed me 5 days worth of Amoxicillin as well as Ciprofloxacin ear drops.

I have a follow up appointment on Thursday.

However, he did not tell me how long to use the drops for. Do I just use them for the 5 days like my tablets, or do I continue to use them until they run out/my follow up appointment (whichever comes fist)?

Don't get me wrong - I'm not going to lose sleep over it but just curious really 😆

I had antibiotic ear drops last year and was told 10 days or when the drops ran out, whichever came first. But I don't remember which antibiotic they were, and it was a longterm mild, but recurrent ear infection.

Doesn't it say on the label?

Pharmacist here, we usually recommend 7-10 days ☺️

ooh ok - thank you, I’ll probably just use it until my next appointment if it doesn’t run out before then 😂 on the label it just says 3-4 drops 3-4 times a time and to discard after 28 days 😅
