Coagulation screening blood test results query

I had a blood test which included a coagulation screening as I have been getting a lot of unexplained bruising.

The results have come back normal which is good but I noticed on my app that a couple of the results are right on the edge of normal and I don't really understand what they mean.

My APPT is 37 and the normal range goes up to 37.5 and my APPT ratio is 1.2 which is right at the top end before it goes to abnormal.

I have been trying to understand what this test is for and what this means and am a bit confused by what I've found online.

Does this mean my blood takes longer to clot than it might? I have always bruised easily and would that explain this?

Does anyone know anything about this test and could explain this to me?

I am going to ask my GP as well of course.

It's a normal result.

Even the top end of normal is still normal.

And nobody understands clotting results except for haematology as clotting is just insanely complicated.

If it’s normal then, regardless how close it is to the cut off, it means it’s taken a normal amount of time to clot and isn’t an indication of any other conditions or deficiencies.

@AnnaMagnani and @MyMindIsSoLoud thank you for replying. Yes you are both right - as it is within range then that means it is normal and will try not to worry. Glad to hear it isn’t just me tvat doesn’t understand the clotting 😆
