Baby with capped teeth

Today I took my 13 month old dd to the dentist and they had to put caps on her 4 top teeth, I'm so pissed is not funny. I've never given ANY kind of juice, cookies or any sugary snacks and I've brushed her gums and then her teeth from the very beginning because I found it relieved her sore gums from teething plus wanted to establish a good dental routine and then this happens, You know what I did wrong? I breast feed her and still do, apparently some babies are more prone than others to cavities and my baby is one of those, the Dr wants me to stop bf and I don't want to do that, what should I do, she says to give her my milk in a cup (she won't take it as of now but I keep trying anyways) or just stop, What should I do?
The other thing is she used eat carrot sticks as a snack but now I cant give it to her anymore or she might damage the caps, what else can I give for snacks that is tooth healthy and healthy in general, preferably sugar free.
Thank you so much.

No advice but it sounds awful for you and your DD.

Hope somebody will be along soon to give some advice
