Anyone here had a septoplasty? Was the recovery rough? I think I have a deviated septum causing my nose to lean to the left. It’s been a huge insecurity of mine for a long time. Strongly thinking of getting it fixed. I’ve heard horror stories about recover 😭 I will attach photos

I had one a few years ago and it really wasn’t bad. Quite painful the first night and day after the op, but the hospital sent me home with Cocodamol, which did the trick. I had to (attempt to) sleep sitting up and I got a horribly dry mouth from all the mouth-breathing - frozen yogurt lollies were a lifesaver - but it was only the first 24 hours that were really uncomfortable and it healed pretty quickly with no issues.

@ConsumedByCakethank you so much for the reply! Do you mind me asking did you have a crooked nose like me or was your deviation only internal? I’d hope I wouldn’t have to get a rhinoplasty also

Sorry if not helpful but you’re very beautiful, that’s the only thing I’d notice from your photo.

Brother had a septoplasty and something else to straighten the outside so maybe a rhinoplasty hmm can’t remember BUT the recovery wasn’t too bad really, first couple of days were rough and mostly drinking fluids through a straw slowly and lots
of dry mouth and aches . Maybe after a week felt ok and then once the internal
splint things were removed (bit of a tear jerker but very quick!) he was absolutely fine so all in all totally worth it for 2 ish weeks of discomfort and he is so happy with the results

I had one years ago to help my breathing. The first night after the op was rough as my surgeon didn’t believe in packing the nose so I bled like a stuck pig.
I didn’t know about the splints as there was no postoperative advice (NHS) so ended up pulling out the stitch that kept the splints in place and got an infection.
My nose is better than it was despite that, and appears straight externally although the septum is still a bit wonky. I was able to ask for it to be made a little shorter and flatter even though it was NHS as the surgeon was in there anyway!

I think you look absolutely gorgeous and that little quirk in your nose is adorable.
I wish you could see what we see OP bless you

Mine was just internal

@stilllawh thank you very much! I’d hope people don’t notice it too much I always think it’s the first thing they see 🙈
