A cold but with nausea and ear pain

I woke up Monday feeling like hell. Shivers, sweats, aches and pains, piercing head pain. That continues into Tuesday. Nothing would help.
Wednesday my throat goes and then I start getting all the snot, etc so thought just a bad cold. But then I started getting really nauseous in waves. Oddly I still wanted to eat.
FF to today and the snot has gone but I’ve still got headaches and a bit of nausea. But now my left ear feels like it’s full and a bit painful. I’m not sure if it’s an infection or not.

Given all the snot I’m still just putting it down to a cold but I’ve just never had one like this before, especially with the nausea.

Anyone else suffered with similar recently?

I get nausea with every sore throat. I think it's because it gets a little bit swollen. Also ear problems can make you nauseous because it's affecting your inner ear. I had labyrinthitis once and was sick a lot if I turned my head the wrong way.
