Fearing the worst

This is a bit of a long one but really hoping for some shared thoughts.
Back in November I started experiencing a pain behind my belly button which slowly moved down to the right hand side. I saw a GP at the beginning of January who thought it was a grumbling appendix and sent me away telling me to go to A & E if it got worse. A few days later I could barely walk, knowing how stretched the NHS is I thought it would be better to call 111, who gave me an appointment with another GP. Again suspected appendicitis so sent me to the Surgical Assesment Unit at our nearest hospital. Once there they took my blood and decided it wasn’t my appendix but thought it was a hernia, the following day they did an ultrasound (just on my tummy, not internal) and didn’t find anything so sent me home with laxatives 🥴 even though I wasn’t in the slightest bit constipated! The pain continued so I went back to the GP, the referred me for another ultrasound which I had in February. With the ultrasound I had whilst in the hospital they said they couldn’t see my right ovary at all as it was so small, the results from my second ultrasound (tummy and internal) they said my right ovary is very enlarged and has a few cysts. How can it go from being so small to very enlarged in a month?!?! GP referred me to Gynaecology and told to come back if the pain gets worse etc. The pain has been constant and I now have other symptoms, back pain, dizziness, shortness of breath and watery discharge. I saw the GP yesterday who has sent an urgent referral for another ultrasound and moved my Gynaecologist appointment forward. I have a very strong family history of cancer so as you can probably imagine I am fearing the worst.
Could it just be cysts?
Does anyone have a similar story or anything?
I don’t really have anyone to talk to so thought I would try here.
Thank you for reading if you have got this far ☺️

You say this has been going on since november, has the pain been constant since then?
Have you tracked your period& ovulation to see if it's cyclical or random?

Since having ds2 I have symptoms like this around ovulation. Probably also have had cysts in the past but didnt have them checked and they disappeared. I had a transvaginal ultrasound six months ago and everything was clear.

In my case I suspect it is perimenopause and scar tissue/adhesions from c sections that caused my ovulation pain.

Hope your symptoms have a similar cause. I am not a doctor but it would seem cancer would cause symptoms that are constant and worsen. Some of the things you describe can also be caused by anxiety.
Hope you get some answers soon OP

Have you had a ca125 blood test done? If not I'd request that on a same day blood test appointment.

Thank you for the replies.
I am on the pill so don’t have periods, which I have asked about stopping to see if that’s what is causing the problem but I have been told not to.
I am having a blood test to test CA125 in just over a week.
Family history is a mixture of different cancers, thank you for the link.
