I'm never happy. Is it depression?

I never ever seem to be happy.
I have been through a lot in the past 5+ years.
Everytime i think my mood will lift it never does.
E.g I've had a lot of work done in the house and garden, thought that would make me happy it didn't.
I had operation done and my teeth fixed and that didn't help my low mood.
I'm always worrying and panicking and don't seem to enjoy anything. Always checking my diary for appointments, always adding money, I'm not rich, but comfortable.
Can anyone relate? What can I do to change the way I feel?

Have you done much work on yourself? Do you journal? External things are not going to change this situation. You may be depressed; but that does not have to be a permanent state of being. What do you do for fun? Who do you connect with? What makes you laugh? Do you exercise? Do you ever take a moment to congratulate yourself for how far you've come / what you've achieved? Do you ever take a moment to notice a blue sky / a friendly puppy / daffodils / ducklings? What do you think you need to change? No-one is happy very much of the time: I find life quite hard a lot of the time, and am permanently knackered and stressed, but I know I am not depressed because I still have odd moments of joy. If you have no moments of joy at all, maybe go see a GP to talk about AD, and pick a small thing you might be able to work on to move you in a better direction. Good luck.
