hello
i had a tooth extraction 12 days ago and I’m still getting some pain that side of the mouth, I can’t pinpoint the pain but looking at the extraction site it all looks good to me, just wondering if anyone else still had pain this long after an extraction? Or even if it could possibly be the tooth next to it causing pain? Not sure if it needs a filling… after two extractions I the last month I really don’t want to waste any money going to the dentist if it isn’t needed… thank you

I used google lens with the photo of the extraction site and the tooth next to it and that said the gum is inflamed or irritated which could be a sign of infection but then Google lens on the tooth says tooth has cavities and needs a filling if not too far gone.. so which is causing the pain 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

From your photo everything looks fine. So explain more about this pain… what if anything triggers it, how long does it last for, how would you describe the pain, what eases the pain and how frequently do you feel pain?

It’s really hard to describe it’s not a pain pain it’s more like a niggle like a soreness, eating etc doesn’t seem to trigger anything it’s more like a random niggle that’s there most of the time. Painkillers seem to stop it but I’m not sure I should still be taking painkillers religiously 🤦🏻‍♀️

I had a wisdom tooth out and it still gave me some mild pain 6 weeks later, food and debris kept getting into the socket. It's still healing 3 months on and is just about closed now, it was quite impacted so the extraction site was large.

Flush it out with a syringe or water flosses with some corsodyl mouthwash gently.
