Just been placed in my room, feels very surreal having never been an in patient before. All the staff have been amazing. So patient. Hoping to get a cuppa before bedtime! Guess they come round early in the morning for checks?

There will usually be an evening hot drinks round, maybe with biscuits if you're lucky! Did you miss evening meal? It's generally served very early.

Hope you're OK, the staff will check on you during the night, do you want to share why you've been admitted.

You will likely have your obs taken a couple of times overnight. Yes, you will be woken early in the morning. Breakfast, more obs and then the Doctors usually do their rounds in the morning.

Thanks, they did bring me a sandwich as I just missed the meal. I’m in for an infection which has spread and the tablets weren’t effective. Going to settle in, watch a bit of Tv and browse MN and hopefully get some sleep.

The nurses will give out medication and antibiotics when they are prescribed for you, remember to ask for painkillers if you need them, they will also monitor your obs regularly, they will also check your wound or skin if that's where the infection is. You'll probably be offered an evening and early morning drink and biscuits too , hope you feel better soon and get some sleep. Have you got your own room.

Thanks all was in for 3 nights. The care was above and beyond, left feeling incredibly grateful for all that they do. Definitely ready for my own bed and sleep. Thankfully I did have my own with bathroom attached which made a big difference and the ward was very quiet too
