Does anyone else have a skin graft scar from childhood?

I've searched for fb groups and not found anything really, all information via google is generally about the immediate time period after skin graft surgery.

I had a skin graft when I was a child in the 80s. Skin taken from a thigh and used on my arm, shoulder and neck.

Most of the time I forget it's there, but the last few years (I'm in my 40's) I've had a few issues with it.

The elbow area often ends up with a scab on it, and at one point this was so large and sore and not healing that I had a referral to plastics who said if it can't heal I'd perhaps need a new skin graft surgery which is complex and painful. This scared me and I practically soaked it in emolliant cream and had protective coverings on it around the clock and it did eventually heal thankfully but now it seems to be suffering again.

I also have another small section that's always been a bit raised that seems to catch on things and lose the top surface of the raised area and then scab.

My scar catches the sun quicker than my skin anywhere else (I'm olive skin toned and don't really burn in the sun but the skin graft will burn even on a fair day).

I also get small areas that grow really thick straight black hairs on it!

I'm not sure what specifically I want from this post but I'd love to hear from others who are adults with decades old skin grafts, and hear your experiences. I may pop this post on some other forums too, I'll see as I'd like to be able to chat online to others in the same situation really. Information and support seems to be lacking.

Forgot to add, I am a long term regular MN user but I've name changed for this post as obviously a large skin graft scar and the age etc is rather identifying!
