Any best IBS-D advice you wish you had at the very beginning of your diagnosis? Just trying to get my insides to settle...

I endured this for many years until a vegan friend persuaded me to "dump the dairy and your gut will thank you." I did and it did. I still have the occasional flare, but they are occasional now.

Stupid question, have you had an allergy or intolerance testing done? What screening have you have already? Have you done a FODMAP diet?

Only reason I ask is I had what i thought was IBSD for years and I tried loads of things. I couldn’t pin point it. I have a wheat allergy and I now can poop like a normal person most of the time.

Hey, I'm following FODMAP as best I can...I haven't had any food intolerance testing but I have noticed a link to, possibly, dairy, so I'm paying extra attention...I've eliminated chocolate and I am paying attention to all fruit other than ripe bananas...how do you deal with the emotional aspects of "giving up" foods you love? Or does the more stable insides balance out any longings you may have?

I really struggle and sometimes choose to poison myself but then I fully regret it the day after.

i think some people can’t stomach lactose proteins….i think you can take some tablets to help if you choose dairy. Maybe it’s worth giving them a go and see if it helps
