Carbs vs fat

Hi all, I’m currently trying to make better food choices to lose weight. Im 5’7 and weight 79kg (I had 2 kids. Before kids I was 60kg)

I’m in calorie deficit every day without trying (I’ve only been doing this a week so long road ahead) but my fat intake is high. To lose weight I need 50g of fat a day and whilst I try hard to maintain that I sometimes go between 100-120g and other days I will go under 50g. I noticed if I stay under 50g fat a day I will feel a little weak the next day so not sure if keeping it that low is for me.

I eat hardly any carbs. I have no problem with that. I eat anything between 60-80g carbs a day but LOTS of protein, again without trying.

is that bad? I know there’s good fats like salmon and avocado which is what I eat. I don’t eat crisps or fries or chocolate etc.

Can you still lose weight doing it like this? I dont need to drop dress sizes anytime soon so I’m not bothered about how long it takes I’d rather do it slower so I feel good in myself otherwise I’ll quit.

just don’t know if I’m sort of wasting my time like this or if I do need to stick to the 50g fat a day.

any advice would be great ☺️

If you’re following a low carb diet then it should be high in fat. Fat is what will fuel you and keep you full, along with the higher protein.

Who told you that you had to stick to 50g fat?
