swelling under ankle?

I have ongoing issues with my feet, my toes do this thing now where one swells massively and goes red and is very painful for a month or two then goes down and the next toe will start. Have had x rays and bloods, no cause found, doctors are uninterested basically.

Anyway i now have this swelling under my ankle. I’m slightly concerned it could be something bad like a DVT? do you even get DVT on your foot? It’s slightly discoloured and very slightly warmer than the corresponding ankle but nothing to rush to the GP about as far as i can tell? It’s been there for about a week with no sign of getting better or worse 🤷🏻‍♀️ anyone got any ideas? I’m sure the GP has ‘foot hypochondriac’ written on my notes by now!

Has the GP ruled out gout?

Is your little toe swollen, "sausage toe", could it be arthritis or gout. Have you injured it, if you are worried about dvt then you need a scan, are you on any medication at all.

Yes gout has been discounted as has arthritis after bloods and x rays and no i haven’t injured it. It’s quite painful to walk on. I’m not sure about DVT, it was just a general wondering, but i am starting to suspect it could be a circulation issue. No one seems to know, it’s quite frustrating!

Think this pictures shows it better. It’s one very specific bit that’s swollen. Well, two bits, but it’s not really the toe thats worrying me as i always have one toe like that.

Does the outside of your calf hurt if you press it? It might be peroneal tendinitis.

I had posterior tibial tendinitis, after walking my ankle swelled, like yours, below the bone. It was also very painful. Does your ankle hurt at all?

Oh that could be it, looking at photos online it’s in the same place. It’s not very painful though just slightly tender. Maybe i’ve done something to it and not realised!
