9 year old has blackhead on cheek

Can anyone offer any advice on how to get rid of a blackhead that has appeared in the middle of my 9 year's cheek? It's the first she's ever had. She has sensitive skin that scars easily (has several scars from chicken pox when she was younger even though she never scratched). Really want to get rid of it without scarring.

Not so surprised that she has her first (even though cheek seems unusual). She is nearly 10 and has several signs that puberty has started.

She usually washes her face with a warm cloth at bedtime. Thinking she might need to get a suitable cleanser soon for more thorough washing but don't think that will get rid of the blackhead she has. She's had it a few days now - it doesn't seem that deep, so I was hoping it would go by itself but not longer sure that's going to happen.

Thanks for any suggestions.

have you tried a Biore strip?

have you tried a Biore strip?

I thought that strips would be too harsh for a child with sensitive skin? Thanks

Distilled witch hazel from boots is really good. Its available in a solid stick or a gel. Or a gentle facial scrub might help

Just give it a squeeze. My nine year old has had two in recent months. Both popped out with a little pressure.. Clean hands (cotton buds if you prefer). No drama. Sorted.

I love the Mighty patch spot patches

Maybe whack a sulphur mask on first, the night before. In the morning, post warm shower, squeeze it.

I’d steam her face - bowl of boiling water then sit over it with a towel over your head. The get two cotton ear buds and squeeze it out with those.

Get a chamomile teabag and make a cup of tea. Take out the teabag and let it cool down for a bit. Then gently apply the teabag to the area to make things easier to squeeze it out gently.

That way you've got a nice cup of tea and a less painful way of going about the whole business.

Thanks for all the comments. Interesting that the consensus is squeezing is the best way!
