Dd2 - mystery illness

Dd2 (8) came home from Brownies last night complaining of stomach ache and feeling cold. I gave her some calpol and she went to bed.

She got up this morning and said that the pain in her stomach had moved from being in the midle and was now on the right hand side, but not as bad as last night. She said that when she gets the pain in the right hand side, she also gets a bubbly feeling in the middle of her stomach.

I kept her off school and she said her tummy feels a bit better, but she is absolutly freezing cold, her hands and lips are purple.
She also has a very slight temp, but only a mild one.

Any ideas ?? Appendicitis crossed my mind, but she doesn't seem to be enough pain for that.

Appendicitis crossed my mind too! I'd take her to see her GP.

A GP can examine her probably and see if it could be appendiciitis - which can get worse quite quickly.

She just piped up that her tummy doesn't hurt now though.

She said her body aches because she is so cold.

Chances of a gp appointment today now are probably nil, you have to ring by 8:35 to get in for the same day.

She is eating a drinking ok by the way.

Oh, I deliberatly haven't given her any pain relief today, so that I could check how much pain she was actually in.

Ok, will try gp, and see if I can get her in.

They have absolutly nothing left for today at all. They said ring back in morning or if pain gets worse go to a&e (which is actually closer).
