At 9.15 this morning her temperature was 39.5 so I gave her 7.5 ml of Nurofen.

It went down to 38.8 but is now back up to 39.5.

Shall I put her in the bath - and is it a 2 hour gap between nurofen and calpol?

dont know check the label or ring gp..but i would sponge her down, i wouldnt bath as if shes very hot the cold water may 'shock' her...strip her off to pants and dab her head/pressure points with wet flannel, give lots of cold drinks/ice pops/icecream in nothing else..anything cool to take temp down..if nothing works, you should take to gp as she may need something stronger as it may be infection(ear infections raise temp a LOT) which would need anti b's..good luck.

I would get her to the GP and ask their advice.

Thanks. Ironically dh is at the doctor for himself right now.

Dd is 7 so I think a bath will be ok for her.

I am the only well person in our family this week!

give her calpol as well...
nurofen is 6 hourly, calpol 4
so
nurofen at 9.15
calpol 12 ish
nurofen 2.15
calpol 4
in the meantime, keep her cool, plenty of sips of cool water or you could try giving her a chip of ice to suck on

Thanks ingles. After all these years I still get in a muddle with the timings.
