tiny brambles in hands

My 1yo son went for a walk yesterday and grabbed at bushes etc on the way. He came back with loads of tiny brambles in his hands and fingers which we can't get out (DH tried but he screamed and wriggled too much).
This morning they're going a bit red - anyone got any ideas as to what we need to do?

Im not quite sure how, but you really need to get them out. If they're now going red it could be a sign of infection, i would most certainly call your GP for advice.

With My Dc's (bramble magnets!) I would get them to play with toys in a bowl of warmish water laced with some salt. throw a few toys in there for him to play with.
Then when his hands have had a good soaking, gently pat dry and pop some magic cream on ( germolene is what I use).

Keep eye on his hands, but I have found that the points of the brambles tend to work there own way out, with a bit of soaking and crean to keep it clean.

Thanks. After advice from pharmacist ended up with practice nurse who has pulled a few of the bigger ones out and has left the smaller ones to work loose on their own. Might try the salty water - thanks - and of course germolene before bed.
