Hi everyone, I think I've developed a bunion. Can anyone confirm and if yes, is it worth visiting the GP?
Also, I do alot of walking so I'm looking for comfy shoe recommendations. Thanks in advance x

Looks like a bunion to me. Does it hurt/ache? It’s work visiting your GP to see if they can refer you to someone who specialises in foot health as they may be able to assess your gait, advise on shoes or prescribe an orthotic.

I developed bunions on both feet in my early 20s and was told I might need surgery in a few years. They hurt. But 15 years later and with proper supportive shoes and paying attention to how I walk, they don’t bother me at all. Arch support makes the biggest difference to me, as it aligns my feet properly and stops my foot rolling inwards. I still wear normal shoes but if I’m walking lots I need something that’s not too flat.

Ignore anyone who implies you brought this on yourself with high heels etc.

@MoreThanRubies Thank you for replying. It's really painful- especially at night. I think do need to look for some supportive shoes. I currently wear either biker boots/docs or converse.
I'll book an appointment with the GP to see what they suggest.

Thank you once again.
