Uncomfortable toes

I've noticed over the last few months that my big toes feels comfortable/hurts slightly at night and if I try to move the joint that acerbates it. Following on from this the outside of my little toe and just below has started feeling the same - I put this down to the fact I broke that area last year. However, it's started to feel uncomfortable on the other side. I can't feel any pressure/obvious discomfort when I'm wearing different pairs of trainers/shoes/sandles (don't wear high heels).

I'm nearly 58. Could it be arthritis slowly setting in (don't have it anywhere else) or could it be anything else? Any thoughts?

It could be - a cousin has osteoarthritis in one toe, and so far,no more. We're early 50s. But you can't know for sure without being seen.

I’m 52 and have arthritis in my big toe joint. A few visits to a podiatrist and I have custom insoles, have had a steroid injection, lots of exercises to do, and will have a hydroluronic acid injection in 8 weeks
