Is water retention normal when reducing breastfeeding?

8 month DD now only bf's before bed (and one snack in the night)

I have massive water retention it seems .. wedding rings have had to come off etc

Is this normal?

Is there anything I can take? (am trying nettle tea)

Shouldn't be a connection Twiglett with ater retention. There is a connection with weight gain and reducing/stopping breastfeeding due to less calories being used up - could that be it?

thanks mears .. but no am presently losing weight on Slimming World diet (apart from last week when the water retention started)

I wonder whether my periods are trying to come back (and failing) though .. might that be it??
