Biopsy results - how long?

I’ve had a thyroid biopsy two weeks ago and haven’t yet had the results. They said it would take 7-10 days but haven’t heard anything. Tried ringing consultant but just goes to answer machine. Tried GP and nothing is sent there. It’s agonising waiting. Is this normal?

Unfortunately yes. Guessing they didn't tell you anything about how they'd share the results when you had the biopsy? NHS say to chase the original referrer if you haven't heard after 3 weeks.

Is the number you're calling the secretary for the consultant?
