In January my ring finger began to swell and is clicky, swollen, stiff and I get occasional shooting pains.
My sister has very bad RA so I asked for a blood test but they won’t refer me to a consultant as my rheumatoid factor is 13 and needs to be 15 for an NHS referral.
I've seen a private hand consultant who said it was osteoarthritis but very mild and pointed out helpfully that he was the same age as me and had it way worse in his fingers… he said it’s not trigger finger.
my GP has done a referral letter for a private rheumatologist and I’m waiting to see them in July. My finger is still very swollen and stiff.
Has anyone had similar experiences?
