Have had mine for several years now. Took me doing the research to find out the reasons for my foot issues and mine is a classic presentation.

Have managed it fine with insoles, massage and ice when needed. However, it really flared up around ten days ago - I think the nerve sheath got caught on bone and the pain was awful. Took a couple of days for massage to release it, but I'm now left with complete numbness on the right side of my 4th toe, and I can't walk barefoot without electric shock type sensations.

Spoke with GP surgery last week after doing triage. Podiatry services recommended, however, I have obvious nerve damage now and it needs looking at. I don't need more insoles,I have them already. GP was supposed to call me back, but didn't.

Anyone else had this issue? I'd like to avoid steroid injections or surgery if possible, the former cos I know it'll hurt like fuck and I'm shit with pain.

I had it - intermittent but awful pain. I did a course of physio following the exercises every day and it did eventually get better and hasn’t returned. It took about 3 months. I hope you can get rid of yours
