I had root canal on 2 back teeth over 2 visits with the last procedure 9 days ago. The first tooth went smoothly but the second was very infected when they went in so I had to have it cleaned out, antibtotics put into the tooth cavity and a temporary filling for a couple of weeks. I then had an endodontic flare and my face swelled up massively on that side and was very painful, so ended up on a week of oral antibiotics too.
The endodontist completed the treatment at the beginning of last week. He felt it all looked good and had a very good chance of being successful.
I’m still a bit swollen on that side- not massively noticeable but noticeable to me and I’ve got some tingling on that cheek too. I call the surgery a couple of days ago and they said to leave it a few more days to see if it settled before jumping in to do anything- I assume because the whole thing had been quite traumatic on my teeth and one was very infected. The teeth ache very mildly but nothing severe.
i guess I’d like to hear from any dentists or endodontists as to whether this is normal and I should just continue to monitor the mild swelling or push for another appt to be looked at?
