11 month old nephew cannot eat solid food. Is getting examination in stomach. Anyone know what this is?

My 11 month old nephew seems to have problems with his food. He is a v sicky baby. Apparently all he can eat is soup and baby jars and gags or is sick when given anything solid and he is getting one of those examinations to look at his stomach. Does anyone know what this is? What problems there could be?

my ds was a bit like his and didn't really get going with solid lumps until he was about 13 months. He's now nearly 7 and eats like a horse.

Possibly a barium swallow/barium meal.
