How do I tell a new potential bf that he has bad breath? I really like him but I think this is a deal breaker for me.

How long have you been dating? Is it a 'not cleaning teeth enough' smell or do you think he eats strong food?

I've only just met him, only had a couple of dates. It's definitely a not floss/see a hygienist regularly smell. Food smells don't bother me.

My husband uses floss sticks throughout the day and his waterpik at night! He pays a fortune for private hygienist on a very regular basis but he has very severe gum disease. He spits out tonnes of blood every times he brushes. And yes, quite regularly his breath is terrible. So, it’s not always lack of hygiene, however having said that I’m married and obviously I’m not about to leave a man I have been married to since I was 21!

Bad breath in a ‘new’ relationship would definitely put me off though and you do have my sympathy but if you do bring it up please be kind - I know how much it upsets my DH over something that he tries his very best to control!

Well see if it carries on. I think if it was all the time I would be a bit put off but like the other poster said, might not be his fault. You could gently ask him about it.
