I attended this school for a few weeks before half term to get to know the kids. I was due to start tomorrow but my lip swelled like crazy and a wierd ulcer and got worse rather than better in last week, and I was given antibiotics just today. Doctor said it’s highly contagious and that I shouldn’t go in. I notified agency to let school know. Agency was very nice. But later came back asking if I have a sick note - the school apparently asked if I had a sick note? Isn’t this bit much like I wouldn’t lie on a first day back of term it’s already embarrassing enough for me. I have proof of prescription and dates. I obviously don’t have a sick note. You don’t get a sick note until after 7 days.
Views? Have I gotten myself into a strange school?

You only need to be off for 48hr from starting the treatment, so I would ask them why that would require a sick note

Yep this is it even 48 hrs i thought it was 24 hours on antibiotics for impetigo? A couple of my children had it repeatedly very annoying but once they had the antibiotics in their system the medical advice was they were fine to go to school.

Op it is really contagious so be really scrupulous with changing towels, washing bedsheets, washing your hands etc as it can spread really easily especially if you have dry skin or eczema etc.
