Well done. I have tried and failed to stop before. I have an app with the stop smoking clinic next Fri. Think I am going to try the patches. Keep it up

I stopped 16 months ago. Got to be honest, I would still love to have another, but I loathe the smell, when I smell it on anybody else it makes me feel sick. Doesn't stop the mental attachment though.

Posey · 16/05/2008 21:09

Well done!
I stopped nearly 3 years ago. I read 4 different versions of the Allan Carr book to rid myself of the mental attachment, which was keeping me hooked. I can honestly say that is what has kept me stopped, with no cravings, for this long.

CORA72 · 17/05/2008 09:43

People say that Alan Carr is good.

OP posts:
charliecat · 17/05/2008 10:30

WELL DONE....takes a while before you forget but it starts with a few mins.
Then 10, 20 and one day you will go a few hours and not think of smoking.
Then DAYS! And you cant quite belive it.
Its normal to want one, s long as you dont have one...or you will be a smoker all over again. In health theres a nicotines something or other thread with other recently stoppd smokers...come join us!
