Nexium and nausea

I'm prone to flare ups of gastritis and reflux particularly if I get stressed. And there has been quite a bit to cause that lately.I also have a small hiatus hernia diagnosed several years ago by endoscopy and was on Omeprazole for about 18months but came off it and found being sensible with caffeine intake and diet things were fine.My last episode and first in ages was at Xmas. Probably a bit too much wine although I drink very little normally. So I bought a 14 day course of Nexium and ate a very bland diet and it resolved pretty quickly.
Well it's back with worse than ever.4 days into Nexium -and a GP appointment booked but can't be seen for another 3 weeks -but this time I feel constantly nauseous. Has anyone else experienced this ?I'm tempted to stop the Nexium and just drink water and eat very little of bland food.Or should I complete the 14 days.Just feel so rubbish and all our Easter plans cancelled as I can't face socialising.

It’s horrible isn’t it. I would go down the Gaviscon Advance route plus rich tea biscuits with a banana in stages. I feel worse if I haven’t had enough carbs - my anxiety gets much worse. Cornflakes in the morning. Use a bed wedge to raise your head sleeping position upwards or, sit up but support your head so you can rest it on something. Keep eyes shut and listen to radio 4. This gets me through the first couple of hours and then it generally ebbs. No tea or coffee - just fruit tea. Good luck.

Thanks .Yes was thinking Gaviscon Advance might be better.Today I have just eaten a banana ,a couple of oatcakes and a couple of tiny slices of chicken breast.I actually feel far worse if my stomach is completely empty.I'm kicking myself for getting like this again and think red wine and a bit more coffee than I usually allow myself has set it off.Was so looking forward to my Easter weekend roast lamb and a curry with friends (spicy food doesn't seem to be a trigger with me )So boring but bland it will have to be !

I find it doesn’t last as long now as it used to and deffo gets better in the evening. I’d steer clear of the curry and chug a spoonful of Gaviscon. Nairns oatcakes - the chocolate ones - are good.
