Please be kind..I've been on here before under a different username and I can tell you, I'm sure I'm in the top 1 percent population with crippling health anxiety.

Anyway... I'm back and I've found a small lump on my libia I think they're called. I'm really working myself up. I can't get into doctors until tomorrow.

I'm.terrified it's cancer. It's only small and skin coloured and no pain. Etc..I'm.35 year old.

Please someone calm me down as I've been goggling all night and I know this won't help me but it's my default reaction

It's about the size of a spot your would get kn your chin and really want to burst. I've tried bursting it but I can't

I'm not going to get through the day as I can't stop checking it. I could have made it worse by trying to squeeze it but it.wont burst. I don't even know if they're is anything to burst.

It's not an STI 100 Percent sure of that

Google "bartholins cyst" and calm down.... Likelihood is it's no more than a small cyst or an ingrown hair.

Doggymummar · 16/04/2025 08:34

Probably a spot. Stop picking it.

CupOfTeaAndAChat · 16/04/2025 08:38

I'm struggling. I've tried ever so hard with health anxiety over the past year. I've even tried with this lump. Watching and waiting and it hasn't disappeared. For some reason anxiety has won the battle and I'm.back to square one

Worrying
Checking
Goggling
Not eating
Not being able to physically talk
Worrying
Sleeping more
Feeling and moving slow
Then moving around too fast and panicking
Loosing hours goggling
Worrying
Asking for reassurance
Checking
Sleeping More
Googling

I'd post a picture but I'd rather not.

I think you can all imagine what a small round skin coloured spot looks like. I do shave down there so could be linked. Health anxiety is screaming at me

'You have a lump! A LUMP! Panick. Don't eat until you know. Nothing else matters until you know! Keep feeling. Keep checking and comparing it to Google images of different lumps. Make sure DH keeps looking at it and giving his opinion. But do not stop thinking about it.

Is there anyone to talk to? I really need a cup of tea and a chat? Without the tea as I don't feel well with nerves

You need to challenge your thoughts, distract yourself and stay away from google. As advised on NHS above try going for a walk.

What you should not be doing is posting for reassurance on a forum, which just feeds your anxiety.

CupOfTeaAndAChat · 16/04/2025 09:12

I phoned 111 per advide from my doctors receptionist. I spoke to a lovely nurse who gave me some reassurance. I know no one knows without looking or testing if this lump is cancerous and I'm lucky enough to have an appointment tomorrow to br seen at 9am.

I'm ha ing something to eat now and getting ready to take kids to a funfair.

I'm also going to run this evening. I run most days long distance and I really don't want my health anxiety or a shitty spot to ruin my hobby like it did last year when I had things I thought I should be worrying about with my health that just turned out to be physical symptoms of anxiety.

It'll be a spot.

Warm salt baths and put some suducreme or savlon on it. It'll probably burst in a couple of days.

I wouldn't consider seeing the GP until I'd home treated for at least a week or I less I had a temperature with it

CupOfTeaAndAChat · 16/04/2025 09:22

I've had it for about 4 weeks I think. I noticed it about 4 weeks ago maybe more. I've done salt baths and it's not going.

I will try sudacreme

It's highly likely to be an ingrown hair or a spot if you shave your labia.

CupOfTeaAndAChat · 16/04/2025 09:27

Yes I shave it often

OP I had this. I just assumed it was a spot. It got bigger and more painful and just as I was about to go to the GP it spontaneously burst. Wouldn’t even know I had it now. I got some antibiotics to be on the safe side. You’ll be fine.

Foxgloverr · 16/04/2025 09:29

Then it is highly, highly likely it's an ingrown hair.

Foxgloverr · 16/04/2025 09:30

Please get some advice from the GP tomorrow about your health anxiety. What treatment are you having for it?

CupOfTeaAndAChat · 16/04/2025 09:39

I just take 10mg of Escitlopram

It's helped me to take the edge of full body twitches I suffer with and called down perking I have when falling asleep and waking up
