Severe dental pain

DD17 has really bad toothache, it started about 5pm and we are due to drive 4 hrs tomorrow to County Durham for a few days. I don't know whether to stay behind with DD and get her some treatment here or hope we can get an emergency appointment in Durham tomorrow afternoon. I will put it on a credit card and go private if needed.
Our own dentist is no use and 111 just says to try emergency NHS dentists here, all of which say they have no appointments until Monday

We have tried various painkillers and she says nothing is working. I think we should still go but DD is in a lot of pain so am I being mean?

I'd ring around a few dentists in County Durham and see if you can get her in tomorrow afternoon/evening (whenever you arrive) or the day after.

If your local emergency dentists can't see her until Monday anyway, staying at home won't make any difference

I wouldn’t be able to sit in a car for 4 hours with severe toothache, I’m afraid. It’s absolute hell and she’s probably not going to get any sleep tonight. She needs to be seen, probably at home, tbh

I agree with Candlediax, try and book one in County Durham. I had a severe toothache on a Friday evening a few weeks back, but couldn't be seen until Monday and this was private, not NHS. Ended up getting antibiotics from A and E on the Sunday as it was unbearable, I had an abcess. 111 was useless. Your poor daughter, toothache is the worst. Keep up the painkillers every four hours. Hope you manage to sort it all out.
