Does anybody have any idea what this could be on my scalp please? The dandruff is insane and the itching is starting to get too much to deal with!

It seems to be in patches and has only developed in the past few months. I’ve tried various dandruff/medicated shampoos to no avail!

I have recently developed this. Dandruff shampoo does not work. I used Polytar shampoo from Boots. Oh the relief! Flaking and awful itching have gone after 2 shampoos. You need to use twice a week for a month. Polymer is with the medicated moisturisers in Boots.

I think it is scalp psorosis.

Polytar not Polymer

The only way to know for sure is to see a dermatologist. It doesn’t look like regular dandruff.

See your GP. It could be psoriasis or seborrheic dermatitis. Either way you need the correct treatment. If it's psoriasis it's important to know as it's autoimmune so comes with other health risks.

Thank you everyone! I will take a look at the shampoo and also book a GP appointment!

I have this. It's possibly seborrhoeic dermatitis. I started with it last summer. I've had various shampoos and creams but the only thing that is currently working is Momestasone scalp lotion which I used for a week. This calmed it down and then I used Nizoral shampoo twice a week to keep it under control.

It does flare up every now and. again and use the lotion for a couple of days and it calms down again. It is an absolute total pain. SO itchy and drove me mad.

Hope you get it sorted.
