Hello

Just that. Have a shallow chunk out if the side of my hand just below the pinky finger. It kept bleeding for an hour, of course it stopped in time for the treatment room to see it. They put iodine patch and big plaster on. Then when I got back home it's started bleeding again. This has been hours. Now they just saying if I'm worried to go minor injuries at hospital which is open till 9pm.

Does anyone know how to stop this bleeding.? It's just a constant little ooze ,Since it's a gouge out of the skin it's not a flap so they couldn't stich it?
Happened on a glass that I was washing that I didn't see was broken.

Yes, I'd do as advised.
A&e can glue it

Assuming that you are following all advice - raise hand above head/apply pressure and not removing bandages (and any forming clots) and layering them and it is still bleeding heavily I would try A&E. However, given the wait times in reality I would do anything to avoid having to go!

Went minors they said open till 9pm. They shut back of 8pm while I was still in there and didn't tell me until I asked how long it be, they then tried to get me into the General a &e takes hours que, it was roasting, no seats and I have cfs so I had to leave. Had a pharmacist look at it. If stil going tomorrow I've to go in at 9am.... terrible service....

It's frustrating, but you're hardly in the position of your hand hanging off
It may well have scabbed over and stopped bleeding by the time morning comes anyway
If it was pouring with blood, you could've stayed and waited. It isn't though, you've said yourself that it's a dribble of blood, if that.

Rubbing the area with ice is supposed to help - constricts the blood vessels.
Good luck!

Ive never encountered bleeding that hasnt stopped with firm pressure and time, unless it was a major artery.

Single layer of sterile gauze, ideally over a non adherant layer such as the iodine dressing, or a silicone, then a pressure dressing over the top, or firm pressure with the pad of your thumb on thebdressing over the bleeding point for 10 minutes with sufficient pressure that your thumb is uncomfortable.

You cant easily apply sufficient pressure with multiple layers of bandage.

Dont keep looking, every time you look or wipe you remove the fibrin and platelets that form a clot.

You didn't say if you take any blood thinners or anticoagulants, WIC or A&E should have picked up on this and advised aplripriately.

Thank you everyone. Hopefully it'll be OK in morning.

My FIL, who was a carpenter, so prone to cuts, splinters etc used something called styptic to stop bleeding.
