Bloated 24/7 that literally doesn’t go away EVER for months now?? What to do? What could this be?

For over 6 months now I’ve had bloating THAT DOESNT GO AWAY. I don’t remember the last time I wasn’t bloated

gp did blood tests/coeliac and that ca125 test, everything fine. Tried probiotics for months, tried gluten free/dairy free. Everything

I look 6 moths pregnant all the time.

what could this be

My cousin just called me to say she is extremely bloated and looks 4 months pregnant. The doctors found a large fibroid in her uterus. Is this a possibility?

SirChenjins · 06/04/2025 18:16

Do you have any other symptoms? What else have they tested for?

RandomMess · 06/04/2025 18:18

Fibroids, ovarian cancer. You need to ask that both are checked out.

EvilBeaker · 06/04/2025 18:19

You need an ultrasound.

I had the same symptoms and had a massive ovarian tumor (luckily not cancer).

Maya101101 · 06/04/2025 18:20

I have always had extremely painful periods. Can rarely leave the house on first day

I take mefenemic acid with paracetamol to manage them.

but gp just wants to put me on birth control and that’s it, said no need to investigate.

Are you meaning isolated bloating ? Or more general?

Without wanting to be rude , have you just put on weight? I have a friend who keeps complaining she is “bloated” but it looks like straightforward weight gain.

SirChenjins · 06/04/2025 18:23

I’d be pushing for further investigations. Ovarian cancer is one you want to rule out, but there are other gynae things that cause this type of bloating.

BlondeMummyto1 · 06/04/2025 18:23

Push for an ultrasound.

Maya101101 · 06/04/2025 18:24

I don’t know if it’s related but for a year now I’ve been itching like crazy/hives/redness every month for hours before my period starts. As soon as it starts it goes away.

gp had no idea, but was diagnosed abroad with autoimmune progestorone dermatitis? Allergic to my own progesterone.

but bloating I don’t think that’s one the symptoms…

It could be a gynae issue. I have suffered from digestive issues and gynae problems for decades and despite going back and forth to the gynae department for years I only found out I had endometriosis at the age of 50. It's one of the most overlooked female health issues.

I also have SIBO (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth), that may be worth looking into and if you itch and have hives it might be worth looking into MCAS and/or histamine intolerance.

Well you need to go back and say that you’re not happy and think there is a need to investigate. Then ask them how they’ve ruled out anything sinister without a scan.

I have bloating
And have a fibroid

And i have abnornal ca125 - likely endo or ademoysis

I note your ca125 is normal.

Have u had ovarian cancer ruled out ?
( ca125 is often high in oc patients)

Have u had a recent transvaginal?
Ask for a qfit test
Have a qfit test ( checks for bleeding - benign polyps can cause that - ive had that too)
Also
Ask them to check your stomach - gastroscopy
( I had that too)

worldwidetravel2017 · 06/04/2025 19:07

You could also push for ct scan

( i pushed 4 that )

You do have to be persistent with them

fudgesmummy · 07/04/2025 16:59

Similar advice to other posters.
I had a swollen, bloated stomach 5 years ago and it turned out to be a tumour on my ovary that weighed 50 lb
No other obvious symptoms
