I recently had some blood tests as I was feeling hot all the time - thought it might be thyroid problems. Anyway I had my second baby 5 months ago - he was 9lb 10z and doctor told me i would need to have my bloods re taken as the glucose one was high. No one told me I had to fast for it. Anyway I do pee alot but it has got worse - could this be gestational diabetes? I can't get an early morning appt for another couple of weeks

it can't be gestational diabetes - by definition you can only have that when you are pregnant - but if it was GD you're at higher risk of developing type II diabetes.

Ring the GP but it needn't be an early morning appt.

Of course - did you have it? Gp closed this afternoon - will ring tomorrow. So I don't need to fast for it?

leave it up to the GP

go and see them and tell them you are weeing lots and have been feeling hot etc

if they think it might be diabetes they might recommend a glucose test for which you might have to fast. Don't second-guess them.
