Can anyone recommend a good pile treatment? I have external piles which are causing me so much discomfort. I’ve tried some of the usual creams but nothing helps ☹️

During my last pregnancy I had dreadful piles. Tried all the creams otc but they made things worse. My doctor suggested that I might have an allergy to a common ingredient in otc remedies and prescribed me Anugesic. It was, to be honest, the ONLY thing that worked for me.

Have you tried scheriproct OP? Really good but is a prescription one

Anusol HC - it only works for me if you get the pharmacy one with hydrocortisone. And Sudocrem also works well in desperation.

Op I am in the same boat as you. I have a pile that came yesterday and it is really fricking sore. I’ve struggled to sit, stand, wee and even cried it hurts so much. My dh got me some anusol suppositorites that numb from the inside out, and I’m using the schiropract ointment. I have also put frozen peas in a sandwich bag and held it there!! It really hurt at first but then was a lot of relief.
also get that like cream in the fridge that’s more soothing!!!
I hope you feel better soon. Xx

The thing that made a difference for me was taking ibuprofen.

In case it helps anyone, I had a a pretty sizeable, painful haemorrhoid appear about a week ago. It seemed to finally chill out and start shrinking when I started using Anusol suppositories as well as the 4-in-1 (with hydrocortisone) cream, both bought at the pharmacy. The 3-in-1 cream I was trying before seemed to do absolutely nothing. 7 days later and it's still there but much smaller and no longer causing discomfort.

This sounds weird - but Vicks Vaporub. None of the normal OTC creams did anything for me, but a bit of Vicks offers instant relief!
