Is this agoraphobia?

I had a hip replacement operation 5 weeks ago and I haven’t even been outside my house yet. Is this normal?
I had the same operation 3 years ago and my recovery was completely different… I was mobile almost immediately and started driving my car 4 weeks after the operation. This time has been so different. I haven’t even stepped over the door step. I’m actually freaking out about going outside. Is this normal?

Sounds like anxiety. Are you worried about hurting yourself?

You poor thing. I think agoraphobia is a longer term condition so I agree that it’s probably generalised anxiety from worry about hurting yourself. Do you live with anyone or do you have any friends or family nearby who could drive you to a cafe (or whatever you’re into) for a mini trip out? I think you need to take baby steps.
