Hi OJ. just wanted to say, thiking of you of course Mainly, wanted to ask what is going to be in his driver? I always make sure there is a good dose of Midazolam in my patients drivers, as it is so good for keeping them settled, slightly sedated thought not enormously, and really comfortable.
Gives a pleasant feeling too, as Have had it myself peri-operatively when I had to be awake for some surgery... it basically 'interupts' with the local memory, which sounds horrible, and that he won't know who you are etc, this is not the case. It means for him, he wont be aware of any discomfort, as it just doesn't register, IFSWIM? he will still know you, and everyone- if indeed he does now ( sorry if insensitive question, not sure how he is doing with that regard recently ) Anyway, wanted to suggest you ask for it to be added in, if it isn't already.
oh OJ, I wish more than anything that I could give you some practical help, just that my back is pretty horrific which is why i can't get back to work myself. I miss my ward and patients so much, I really truly wish i could come and help you, day to day with the nursing. If you get to the stage where they are simply not giving you enough nursing support, please let me know and I will happily come to you and at least I can tell you what to do, if that makes sense! Just can't do the muscly bit!
Lastly, this will probably sound so horrible, but if youdo want to know a bit about what to look out for, and how to know things are really changing with Steve, so you can be really prepared, then please email me, and I can talk you through some things... just something I'm often asked, as relatives don't want to not be there Shit, I really hope that doesn't sound insensitive and callus. truly not my intention. HUGEest apologies if it is.
Really really thinking of you. xx
