Can you have cystitis/UTI without the symptom of burning wee?

I have had lower abdo pain in the region of bladder/uterus(at times quite bad-like period cramping but kind of here more than not) for about five days. Also back ache. I am needing to go to the loo more than usual but I do when I have period pain generally as it seems to stimulate evrything in that region.Just can't work it out, have quite an upset tummy too but thats not unusual as have IBS. the only thing I can think of is a urine infection, but I have not had any stinging when passing wee so can it be that?

Its getting me down and I am due to go on holiday on friday

Any ideas ladies?

Yes, you don't need classic cystitis symptoms to have a UTI. Backache and lower abdominal aches are very common symptoms which can also be caused by UTI.

See practice nurse or GP tomorrow with a urine sample.

yes it is, I was diagnosed with a bad urine infection (so bad the GP dropped my prescription off for me on his way home lol) when I was pg.
I had NO idea, had no smyptoms at all

I would get checked out, and in the meantime drink plenty of fluids, take vitamin c tabs and make sure you squeeze all the urine out every time so none gets pooled in the bladder. Have had this many times and sympathise!
