Thyroiditis

I had thyroiditis about 5 years ago and it was horrific, lasted months, lost half my hair etc. I was incredibly depressed the whole time and it was just generally shit.

Lo and behold I have it again, I recognised the early stages so have pushed for tests to confirm.

I feel so upset, I am starting to feel quite rubbish and I’m panicking it’s going to be as bad as last time. And for vanity my hair has only just got back to how it was before last time - I know that’s not the important bit but it’s horrible!

Has anyone else had this again? Any tips or magic remedies?! Feeling quite desperate to be honest

Have you not been on medication the whole time?

No there’s no treatment for sub acute thyroiditis, it’s self limiting……

My thyroid function is checked every 6 months as the damage can cause underactive thyroid but it’s always been fine.
