DH and I have been thinking about investing in a family private health insurance plan. DS is 12 and we are 54 and 48 so getting on a bit.
But our dentist now thinks Ds should get an orthodontic referral in the next year or so. Does your health plan cover orthodontics? And does it cover dentistry? (Currently I payg at the private dentist as have good teeth, ds and dh are nhs as dh stayed with his childhood dentist).
thanks.

We are with AXA health insurance and no it doesn’t cover dentistry or orthodontist, we saw NHS orthodontist at a local hospital for my DS.

NHS dentist referred my DD to orthodontist at 10.5 years old because the wait where we live is 2 years for the initial assessment. She is now 13.5 and we are waiting for her second appointment in June. Still no where near an orthodontic plan or braces.

If he hasn't been referred already I would imagine you should find a private provider that does provide orthodontics or go back to the NHS and demand he is referred now!

Sorry not answered the question you asked.
